Curbside Recycling Program

Atwater Township participates in a curbside recycling program to help reduce waste and protect our environment. Recycling is collected on scheduled days throughout the year. Please place your recycling bin at the curb by 7:00 AM on your scheduled pickup day.

Accepted Items

Please rinse containers before recycling

Plastic bottles and containers (#1-#7)
Aluminum and steel cans
Cardboard (flattened)
Mixed paper and newspaper
Glass bottles and jars
Magazines and catalogs

Not Accepted

These items cannot be recycled curbside

Plastic bags and film
Styrofoam
Food-contaminated items
Electronics
Hazardous materials
Yard waste

Recycling Tips

Rinse containers - Remove food residue to prevent contamination
Flatten cardboard - This saves space in the recycling truck
Keep items loose - Do not bag recyclables
Check the number - Look for the recycling symbol on plastics
When in doubt, throw it out - Contamination can ruin entire batches
